Manchester United Manager Alex Ferguson's Bronze Statue Unveiled


The9-foot Statue was commissioned in November 2011 to mark AlexFerguson's 25th anniversary at the club and was unveiled outside Old Trafford on Friday Nov 23,2012 by Lady Cathy,Alex Ferguson's wife.

The Statue has a prime spot outside the stands named after him.

 The statue has been placed in front of the ``Sir Alex Ferguson Stand'', which has two large pictures of Ferguson holding the Premier League and Champions Leagues trophies aloft.

In Fergie's 26 years at United, there have been five Prime Ministers, 10 Liverpool managers, 12 England coaches and 19 City bosses. Now, with this statue, there's no chance of getting rid of him

 Ex-players and the first-team squad in attendance in honour of English football's most successful manager

 The current United squad was joined by former stars including Eric Cantona, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Edwin van der Sar, Peter Schmeichel, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, and Gary and Phil Neville.

David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo -- both of whom bore the number seven shirt with distinction for United before joining Real Madrid -- sent pre-recorded tributes.
