2012  IPL 5 Opening Ceremony on Tuesday April 03,2012





The ceremony was opened by Amitabh Bachchan, who rendered a soulful poem penned by lyricist Prasoon Joshi. It was followed by a performance by Colonial Cousins, after which Priyanka took to the stage.

Colonial Cousins Hariharan and Leslie Lewis also touched the spectators' hearts with their performance on 'Janaab-E-Aali'.
Prabhu Deva and Kareena Kapoor took over the stage and performed on popular songs such as 'Criminal' and 'Muqabala'.

2012 IPL 5 KKR Win Maiden IPL Title





Kolkata Knight Riders won their maiden IPL trophy with a memorably tense chase of 190 against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk,Chennai on Sunday May 27,2012.
 

By the halfway mark, that is , at the end of 10 Overs,KKR were 100 for 1, meaning they needed 91 from 60 balls.
With 20 to defend off 12 balls, Hilfenhaus sent down two full tosses in a row – the first Kallis slapped straight to sweeper cover to be out for 69, but the next was deemed to be above Shakib Al Hasan's waist. The result? Three runs and an extra ball, which Shakib excellently scooped to fine leg for four. The error proved costly for CSK which conceded 7 Runs in that Over.
Needing 9 from 6 balls, Shakib Al Hasan and Manoj Tiwary took singles and Manoj Tiwary swung Bravo over short fine leg for four.Manoj Tiwary finished it with another pull through the same region, and then pumped his firsts in celebration of victory with 2 balls to spare(KKR scored 192 Runs in 19.4 Overs)
