Nepal Ministers Resign En mass to Form Unity Govt
All 48 ministers of the Baburam Bhattarai-led government in Nepal resigned en mass on Thursday May 03,2012 midnight to form a national unity government within two days

The move follows a five point deal signed by the three major political parties Maoists, Nepali Congress, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) and the conglomeration of Madeshi parties.
With only 23 days left to draft a new constitution, the unity government under Bhattarai is expected to end the stalemate among parties on contentious issues and complete the task on time.

All the major players agreed to resolve all issues in constitution drafting, including restructuring of the country into federal units, and form government within three days.

They decided to promulgate the new statute by May 27. But before that, the Bhattarai government will resign and another unity government formed under Nepali Congress leadership.

The new government will be responsible to conduct the next general elections within a year.
