2016 World Chess Championship in New York,USA - Magnus Carlsen Wins Third World Chess Championship Wednesday Nov 30,2016

Norwegian Magnus Carlsen extended his dominance over the chess world by winning the World Chess Championship for the third consecutive time, beating his Russian challenger Sergei Karyakin in a tiebreaker.

Magnus Carlsen won the championship -- organized by the International Chess Federation, FIDE -- in 2013 and 2014, beating Indian Viswanathan Anand.

The win puts Carlsen closer to the status of chess legends such as Garry Kasparov, who dominated the game for 15 years.

Although Karyakin foiled predictions by tying Carlsen in 12 regular rounds, the Norwegian champion beat him in the final phase of four quick-fire extra games.

The battle for the world chess crown ended up in the dramatic tiebreaker on Wednesday after a win apiece and nine draws.

So the young stars -- both aged just 26 -- headed into the chess equivalent of extra time in soccer.

Unlike the earlier rounds, which lasted an average of six hours, the rapid-play rules meant the players had just 25 minutes each, so each game was over in an hour.

The accelerated games left plenty of opportunity for harried mistakes, and while predictions were difficult, Carlsen -- a king of the blitz format and world number-one since 2010 -- had remained favorite.

The Norwegian, who turned 26 on Wednesday Nov 30,2016, has played several blitz tournaments this year, beating US grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura in one in October.

But he has occasionally shown flashes of losing his cool, as when he slammed the door of the press room after defeat in the eighth round, earning a fine of five percent of his prize money.

LPG rates were last hiked on November 1 by Rs. 2.05 per cylinder. Prior to that, the rate was hiked on October 28 by Rs. 1.5 per cylinder on account of hike in commission paid to dealers.

Apple will expand its line of (RED) products and donate $1 for each transaction made using mobile payment Apple Pay
Apple Inc (AAPL.O) is expanding its support for the fight against AIDS through the (RED) charity founded by rock singer Bono, Chief Executive Tim Cook said in an interview ahead of World Aids Day.

Over the next week, the company will expand its line of (RED) products and donate $1 for each transaction made using mobile payment Apple Pay in its physical and online stores, up to a total of $1 million. Bank of America (BAC.N) will contribute up to that sum for Apple Pay transactions using its cards.

"There's still way too many people dying of AIDS, still too many kids being born with HIV, and so we are continuing to press really hard," Cook said

UNAIDS predicts the number of babies born with HIV could drop to near zero by 2020 from around 400 per day now, Apple said.

The (RED) campaign is an example of "cause-related marketing," a style of philanthropy that some critics say is self-serving because they promote corporate brands as much as the underlying cause.

(RED) was one of Apple's highest profile philanthropic efforts under former Chief Executive Steve Jobs, who largely avoided corporate giving. The company has been responsible for about $120 million of the $360 million (RED) has raised since it was founded in 2006.

2016 OPEC Meet in Vienna Wednesday Nov 30,2016 - Agreement to cut output reached

Oil shot up over 10 % after producer club OPEC and Russia cut a deal to reduce output to drain a global supply glut, but analysts warned prices could recede as other producers stand ready to fill the gap.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) had agreed on Wednesday Nov 30,2016 its first oil output reduction since2008 after de-facto leader Saudi Arabia accepted “a big hit” and dropped a demand that arch-rival Iran also slash output.

The deal also included the group’s first coordinated action with non-OPEC member Russia in 15 years.
“OPEC has agreed to an historic production cut,” analysts atAB Bernstein said.

“The cut of 1.2 million barrels per day (bpd) was at the upper end of expectations (0.7-1.2 million bpd). An additional cut of 0.6 million bpd from non-OPEC countries could significantly add to what has been announced by OPEC.”

Following the announcements, the price for Brent crude futures, the international benchmark for oil prices, shot up over 10 per cent from below $50 on Wednesday to $51.92 per barrel at 0256 GMT.
