Tower Bridge - often confused with the less extravagant London Bridge - will be closed to traffic from October 1 until December 30 this year due to the "essential" works.
The
iconic bridge, which links Bermondsey with the City of London and the
infamous Tower of London, carries 21,000 vehicles a day with an 18 tonne
weight limit.
Just over a million motorists
will be forced to take different routes over the 91 days as the main
thoroughfare into the City is closed for the work.
