Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi announces his new cabinet Wednesday March 22,2017

Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday March 22,2017 announced his picks for cabinet portfolios with the Uttar Pradesh chief minister keeping the Home Ministry under his command.

Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has been allocated the Public Works department and the Food Processing, Entertainment Tax and Public Enterprises department

The other deputy CM Dinesh Sharma gets the Higher and Secondary Education, Science and Technology, Electronics and IT departments.

In total, the CM has kept 37 departments for himself, including the Mining Department, which was in news for allegedly being mired in corruption during the previous Samajwadi party regime, an issue which the BJP had raised vociferously during the election campaign.

He will also hold other key portfolios like Institutional Finance, Revenue, Housing, Food, Urban Planning Personnel and Administrative Reforms.

BJP's official spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh was allotted the Health department, while Mathura MP Srikant Sharma was given charge of the Energy portfolio.

The only Muslim member in the Cabinet, Mohsin Raza has been made the minister of state for Science and Technology, Electronics, IT, Muslim Waqf and Haj.
