63 Million in India do not have access to clean water

India has the highest number of people globally – 63M in rural India – that lack access to safe water.

That means about a 10th of those across the world facing serious water issues live in India, according to international NGO WaterAid.

What’s worse?

The worldwide problem is compounded by a growing population and climate change, and not having access to clean water makes communities more vulnerable to extreme weather events.
